Brief Summary

Symmetrical setup for archive material, set up on a desk in the corner of a room at our collection storage facility.

The column of the copy stand is bolted to the desk, the desk acts as the base for the copy stand. Used for top-down shots with standard black paper backdrop.

Two Godox LED constant lights sit either side on the desk, as far towards each edge as possible. Both lights are aimed towards each other across the desk. Barndoors are adjusted as need to reduce or control reflections.

Can shoot A2 comfortably.

Lighting Setup

  • The copy stand column is bolted to the table with LED constant lights placed either side of the column.

  • Godox LED lights are set to 100% brightness and white balance set to 5600k. Lights can be turned on and off by a small handheld remote.

  • The controlling laptop is on a cabinet off to the side.

  • A foot pedal is used to trigger the camera to reduce body movement between copy stand in front and laptop to the side.

  • A USB number pad is also used to enter file names and switch live view on/off.

  • A second monitor is positioned next to the copy stand column and is used for viewing the tethering software; DSLR Remote Pro.
