Shipwright Technician 

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

The Shipwright Technician supports the coordination and planning of maintenance as required, ensuring compliance with Maritime New Zealand and the Museum Maritime Transport Operator Plan, in a financially prudent manner as well as overseeing the activities undertaken by engineers, volunteers, and contractors. This key role involves ensuring the fleet of heritage vessels (Ted Ashby, Puke, Nautilus and Breeze), are well maintained; thereby ensuring the safe and effective operation of the heritage fleet in support of Museum programmes and Visitor Experience.

Digitisation Support Technician

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Reporting to the Digitisation Project Manager, the Digitisation Support Technician is a key member of this Project and will perform the supportive functions around digitisation, records production and processing the associated collections, following best-practice guidelines. In this rewarding role, key tasks will include facilitating movement and access to collections, location control, labelling of collections, improving storage and housing, sorting and inventorying collections, and data entry support.
