What artifacts and treasure are housed in the Maritime Museum?

Learn about New Zealand’s rich maritime heritage, and the part it has played in our history. Students will use our trail cards to navigate through the depths of the Museum. Starting with the Pacific Discoveries Theatre, through to Landfalls and Pacific voyaging, then on to New Beginnings with a rocking replica 1840s accommodation cabin. Next up is America's Cup and Sir Peter Blake in Blue Water, Black Magic, before heading up to our temporary art exhibition on the second floor in Edmiston Gallery. The New Zealand beach identity can be found in Kiwis & the Coast with a 1950s replica bach and beach shop.

Be sure to bring cameras to take photos back to school to facilitate further learning.
