Join in the fun and experience a night that is part immersive theatre, part mystery game. Express yourself in costume, embark on a clue-solving mission, sip themed cocktails and dance the night away to a live performance by Wellington Sea Shanty Society!

You and your fellow guests are a global contingent of visitors to a mythical 19th century World's Fair, where a night of lavish adventure awaits! You'll each be given a special role to play and have your own secret motivations for attending as you follow clues throughout the museum. Stick with your delegation to work out the story or set off on your own personal quest.

Fancy dress is highly encouraged. Hors d'oeuvres provided and your first drink is on us!

Event FAQs

'While the Light Lasts' is an immersive social play experience where you are the centre of your own story. Imagine a dress up murder mystery party where instead of just a murder to solve there are multiple stories to explore and be a part of. Everyone gets given their own unique role for the evening, with their own special creative ways to interact with everybody else. Everyone is also part of a special 'delegation' who has their own storyline to explore. You can choose to solve clues with your assigned delegation, or you can take the clues you are given and explore the museum on your own personal quest. How interactive you want to be is entirely up to you.

You will be moving throughout the museum at your own pace, and can return to key locations for refreshments and an eftpos bar at any time. There will also be live music from the Wellington Sea Shanty Society and we encourage people to stay at the conclusion of the ‘game’ part of the evening for mixing, mingling, dancing and revelry.
