Take in these beautiful origami paper cranes Orizuru (“ori” to fold, and “tsuru” crane) and try your hand at a simple boat-folding activity in our second stairwell.
The piece was created as part of a community project at the Auckland Art Gallery where Senbazuru, 1000 paper cranes, were made. In Japanese culture, the paper crane has come to represent hope in challenging times, and these symbols of hope are now with us to share.
