Artist talk lineup

Exhibiting artists discuss their fascination with the Pacific Ocean and the many species that live and sing in its waters.

How do you make art about a subject as immense as the Pacific Ocean? And how, as humans, do we make a home in this overwhelmingly aquatic reality?

The nine ‘Kermadec’ artists who voyaged on the HMNZS Otago to Rangitāhua Raoul Island in 2011 still feel the effects of that life-changing oceanic encounter. Hear about their experience and its aftermath.
