Stop by the Maritime Museum every Sunday for these free family-friendly crafts. Kicking off in May, there will be a new nautical craft every month for crafty kids to make and take. No need to book, just come by for a relaxed day by the water.

Aotearoa One Waka Sailing

For a limited time only over Autumn 2019 the Maritime Museum will be offering a unique sailing experience on the waka AOTEAROA ONE. Climb aboard this special vessel for a one-hour sailing trip out on the Waitemata Harbour while learning about traditional Maori and Polynesian culture and sailing methods.

AOTEAROA ONE is a modern take on a traditional waka and was launched in 2003 for Te Wananga o Aotearoa at their Mangere Campus in Auckland.

Nautilus Heritage Sailing

Get out on the Waitemata harbour with our newest heritage vessel Nautilus. With a maximum capacity of 8 it is an intimate and fascinating experience to cruise on this vintage launch. Nautilus has had a colourful life, travelling the world, since first being launched as family vessel used for picnics and racing in 1913. Since then she has run public excursions, ferry trips and charters and was involved in a rescue of a survivor from a yachting accident.

SS Puke Steaming Trip

SS Puke might just be the cutest steam tug on the water and you can get on board for a trip on Sundays from 10:30am - 3pm.

Ted Ashby Heritage Sailing

One hour heritage sailing trips on Ted Ashby head out twice a day, six days a week, so there is plenty of opportunity to climb on board.
