Tied in Knots January Holiday Programme

15 - 26 January 2018

Our January holiday programme is inspired by our current exhibition Knot Touch, which is a tactile exhibition celebrating the versatility and traditions of knots.

Celebrate maritime tradition with macramé workshops, interactive tours with museum characters and explore the ‘touch friendly’ Knot Touch exhibition.

Visitors can choose to do all three activities or pick and mix!

Character Encounters and Family Trails

Looking for something fun to do with the kids over the weekend? Bring them into the Maritime Museum to meet our roving characters and take an interactive journey through our galleries.

Every weekend the museum will feature a special character to meet in the galleries. Keep your eyes peeled as you explore the museum and be entertained by their stories of how they journeyed to Aotearoa.

Bookings essential. Please call (09) 373 0800 or email info@maritimemuseum.co.nz to reserve your place.

Nautilus Heritage Sailing

Get out on the Waitemata harbour with our newest heritage vessel Nautilus. With a maximum capacity of 8 it is an intimate and fascinating experience to cruise on this vintage launch. Nautilus has had a colourful life, travelling the world, since first being launched as family vessel used for picnics and racing in 1913. Since then she has run public excursions, ferry trips and charters and was involved in a rescue of a survivor from a yachting accident.
