Chinese New Year – Drop In Family Activities

Join us as we celebrate Chinese New Year at the Maritime Museum! We’ll be running drop in family activities in the Learning Centre, led by our friendly hosts. No need to book, just come by for a relaxed day by the water. The Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, is an enormous celebration for Chinese people around the world. Chinese New Year is one of the world's most prominent and celebrated festivals, and is the cause of the largest annual mass human migration in the world. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between January 21 and February 20.

Location: 
New Zealand Maritime Museum
  • Residents of the Auckland region can visit the Maritime Museum galleries for free if they provide proof of address on arrival
  • Children: 5-14 years old (4 years and under are free)
  • Family Pass = 2 adults & 2 children or 1 adult & 3 children
