Maritime heritage education is a foundation principle for Voyager, and our unique setting provides for an inspirational and invigorating learning environment. The educational focus for the museum is centred on the maritime history of New Zealand, examining all aspects of our maritime heritage from early Polynesian settlement to modern commercial shipping. We offer both term-time school programmes for early childhood, primary and secondary age students, as well as activities during holiday periods, and collectively the museum engages over 15,000 participants every year.
Holding a Ministry of Education Learning Experiences Outside the Classroom (LEOTC) contract, we are committed to delivering professional programmes of high educational quality.
